La-Z-Boy is committed to the responsible stewardship of our environment. Working to integrate environmentally sound business practices into our daily business decisions, we’re striving to be an industry leader in recycling, pollution prevention and the efficient use of natural resources. By utilizing environmental management systems to assess and communicate the impact of our processes, we hope to foster openness and dialogue with our employees and the communities in which we operate.

Recognizing that a key component of any pollution prevention program is recycling, La-Z-Boy works continually to be a more efficient consumer and a better waste recycler. For instance, when we make comfortable chairs and sofas we also end up with a lot of leftover foam and fibers – our most recyclable byproducts. Virtually all of the foam and fibers are recycled to make carpet padding.

Corporate-wide we recycle wood chips and wood dust, which can be used as a renewable fuel and for composting, landscaping or animal bedding. We also recycle cardboard, plastic, metal and other materials.
